Your trailing threshold moves with your account and then locks — and most traders blow up because they don't know where the line is right now. Pick intraday or end-of-day trailing, drop in your numbers, and see your exact liquidation line. Apex presets built in; set size and drawdown separately for any other firm.
Apex now offers two trailing drawdown models, and which one you're on changes everything about how the line moves:
Both trailing models only move up, never down, and both lock once the threshold reaches roughly your starting balance + $100 — after that your liquidation line is fixed.
| Account | Profit target | Trailing drawdown | Daily loss limit (EOD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| $25K | $1,500 | $1,000 | $500 |
| $50K | $3,000 | $2,000 | $1,000 |
| $100K | $6,000 | $3,000 | $1,500 |
| $150K | $9,000 | $4,000 | $2,000 |
Intraday and EOD use the same drawdown amount per size — only the timing differs. The $75K / $250K / $300K sizes are legacy (no longer sold, but existing accounts keep their old amounts — both are in the preset list above). Always confirm against your own dashboard; firms change these.
It tells you where the line is. It can't tell you why you keep hitting it — the behavior that walks you into the threshold: sizing up after losses, holding losers far longer than winners, giving back open profit. That pattern lives in your trade history, and it's exactly what a PropProof checkup reconstructs from your fills.
